Since moving North last year I've had the same conversation about 16,000 times.
Where are you from?
Well, I was actually born in Nebraska but I grew up in Arkansas.
How'd you end up in Arkansas??? they all ask, flabbergasted at the thought
Well, my parents were hippies...
And I mean that in every sense of the term. Although now they'd be called "Green". They built our first house, made their own clothes, grew their own food, smoked pot no matter what they say now ... They were Flower People without a commune.

You were adorable and that house was very cool. I think my oldest daughter would like to have been your sister, I don't know how she came to us, a random hippie born in the mid 80's.
Love these pictures!
I love old pictures! I love that you didn't wanna share the tub!
So cool! Thanks for sharing!!
Those are great pictures. I love old pictures. Things are always different then as you remember them. Happy Valentines Day.
You are a damm cute kid! I love that your parents were hippies in "every sense of the word." Some how, that makes you that much more fabulous to me. Kind like Dharma, from Dharma and Greg.(I use to love that sit com.)
The pictures are awesome. I am so glad you shared them with us.
I love old pictures. And I love the woods.
My mom has a picture of me and my dad similar to the one of you and your dad. Only I think he was holding a beer. Like your parents, my dad smoked marijuana and also grew his own.
What a great place to grow up! In that first photo of you and your dad you look like Asher, then in one of the ones later on you look like Aidan. I love the metal tub photo. My grandparents built their house in a place just like that and that's how my dad grew up, they were hippies too, but never admitted to the pot smoking. They quit smoking everything in 1963, due to religious reasons.
Thanks for sharing, I love old photos.
Your folks had a ton of books!!! Love the old pics. Pretty cool mannnn..... ;)
Sissy I'm telling you, I didn't smoke pot. I wasn't emotionally stable enough. I can barely handle St John's Wort. I gave it a good try as a teenager but it wasn't worth the paranoia. God knows I wanted to because I thought it was so cool but I was just uncool like that. I did burn a lot of white sage after meeting that old Lyn from Big Fork! You guys always thought it smelled like pot which tells me you don't know much about the smell of pot, yourself. I could be wrong about that last part, though.
